Biography

Dr. Oluranti Olukemi Sangodoyin is a resourceful and results-driven academic, administrator, and manager with more than three decades of experience spanning the academic, corporate, and social sectors. Fifteen of those years have been dedicated to university-level teaching and administration within and outside Nigeria, following a distinguished 14-year career as an executive banker.

She earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Business (Marketing) from the University of Botswana in 2015, where she broke an 18-year record by becoming the first PhD graduate in the Faculty of Business. She currently serves as the Director of Academic Planning at the Abiola Ajimobi Technical University, Ibadan, and is also a Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training. A strategic planner and organiser, Dr. Sangodoyin is known for her ability to translate vision, mission, values, and policy into effective actions and measurable outcomes. Her leadership acumen and her capacity to work productively with diverse groups in varied contexts are widely recognised.

As an experienced lecturer and administrator, Dr. Sangodoyin successfully led the registration and re-accreditation of the Gaborone Institute of Professional Studies (GIPS) in Botswana, securing full programme accreditation in April 2018 and earning the institution an additional 10-year operational approval. She also pioneered the University of Greenwich (UK) BA (Hons) Business Studies degree programme at GIPS, where she served as Programme Coordinator and Link Tutor. Her excellence in teaching earned her the Best Lecturer Award in Strategic Marketing Management and Globus Simulation courses for Association of Business Executives (UK) students.

Dr. Sangodoyin holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma (1992), a Postgraduate Diploma in Statistics (PGDip) from the University of Ibadan (1988), and a BA (Hons) in Business Studies from the University of Greenwich (UK).

From 2008 to 2016, she was a Senior Lecturer at GIPS and, in February 2013, was appointed Head of the Department of Business Management and Marketing. She later became the institution’s Academic Manager, serving from 2016 to 2019. Earlier in her academic career, she lectured part-time at the Federal Polytechnic, Ede (2006–2007). Before transitioning fully into academia, she worked at Wema Bank Plc, Bodija Branch, Ibadan, rising to the position of Risk Manager between 1992 and 2006. Prior to that, she served as a Data Analyst at the Development and Planning Unit of the University of Ibadan (1990–1991), following her National Youth Service Corps assignment in Ogun State.
