Biography
Professor Chidinma Daokoru-Olukole is a Professor of Environmental and Public Health Microbiology and the Director of Academic Planning, Research and Innovation at Bayelsa Medical University, Nigeria.
She is a seasoned university administrator with strong expertise in curriculum development, internal quality assurance systems, and academic standards management.
She also serves as the Project Manager of the Academic Excellence Team, where she leads initiatives focused on improving teaching quality, strengthening research capacity, and promoting innovation across the institution.
Professor Daokoru-Olukole previously held senior academic and leadership positions at Niger Delta University, including serving as the Pioneer Head of the Department of Microbiology, where she played a central role in establishing academic structures and quality frameworks.
She holds a PhD in Environmental Microbiology from the University of Port Harcourt and has published widely, with approximately 40 journal articles and book chapters. She has presented research at national and international conferences and serves on the editorial boards of local and international scientific journals. She is an active member of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and the Nigerian Society for Microbiology (NSM).
